Time2Market partners with MITCO to accelerate energy market access

A new collaboration between METLEN Energy & Metals, a multinational company with a strong focus on energy efficiency and Danish market management service provider Time2Market reflects a clear trend among energy trading companies around the world— outsourcing market entry procedures to ensure fast and efficient access to new markets.

These companies have extensive experience in energy trading, but little time to complete the extensive administrative tasks involved in entering new markets. Time2Market steps in to provide expert knowledge, a proven track record in all European and American power and gas markets, and a dedicated team that ensures the success of each client.

Energy trading companies are increasingly outsourcing their administrative tasks to the market access specialists behind Time2Market in order to grow faster while saving time and money. Over the past two years, Time2Market has signed agreements with more than 30 energy trading companies around the world that want to accelerate their entry into European and American energy markets.

“When energy trading companies try to enter new markets themselves, they often find that they have underestimated how difficult it is. As a result, it takes many months before they can start trading. This causes a lot of frustration. They make less money. They miss out on trading opportunities. They fall behind. Typically, it takes 9-12 months to enter a new market when energy trading companies try to do it themselves - we can help them enter new markets in 3-5 months. That’s a lot of extra profit," says Eszter Pontenagel, CEO of Time2Market.

Time2Market has helped both large and small energy trading companies, hedge funds and investment banks to break into the energy industry and expand to new markets. According to Time2Market’s CEO, Eszter Pontenagel, who has more than 15 years of experience in market access, more and more companies have realized how much they miss out on when entering markets by themselves.

“It is very difficult to understand the rules in a single market without the necessary expertise, and if you want to enter several markets simultaneously, it is almost impossible for energy trading companies to handle the tasks themselves, as the rules in different countries are very different," says Eszter Pontenagel. “We have entered these markets for numerous clients in the past, meaning we already have a streamlined entry process, which takes multiple months off of the typical market access timeline. That is why more and more trading firms choose to work with Time2Market.”
